Video Review Digital Summit Presenters 2011

Here is my video review and quick overview of this year’s Digital Summit hosted in Atlanta. I wanted to share with you some of the speakers, presenters and vendors that made an impact on me based on their content and presentation delivery. They all engaged the audience and brought value to this year’s summit. As a conference attendee, you want to learn and be engaged. I felt these speakers delivered that. Unfortunately, I could not hear all the presenters; you can’t be in two places at one time. My mini video review, a quick speaker testimonial recap. More video reviews to come including a full video review of Gary Vaynerchuk’s Book “The Thank You Economy” I will be conducting another complimentary webinar of Social Video Sales Engaging your Customers on Wednesday May 25. I got some great tips from the Summit to pass on.

Please comment, let me know your thoughts, a video response would be awesome.
Thanks Doug

Video Engagement Tips 101 – March Madness

March Madness Video Engagement Tips 101. It is that time of year when March Madness NCAA Hoops Tournament is in full effect. I have a strong passion for video and College Basketball. In keeping with the theme, I decided to create a quick video on tips for producing an online video with emphasis on leveraging social selling and customer engagement .

This video slideshow was developed with a simple flip camera using window movie maker as an editing tool with voice over narration. I try to keep it simple.

Filming Outside Atlanta Challenges Delivering The Message

Things to consider when filming outsideIn this video I should have made the following changes to make it more compelling and engaging. When filming video on a rooftop beware of the wind and background sound.  An external microphone or a lavaliere mic can help with sound quality issues. During the jump cut or transition cut, my image was too dark and natural lighting did not provide clarity. Make sure you are aware of the shadowing effect and place your subject in a well-lighted place.

My objective and intent is to be genuine and authentic delivering my message to the city of Atlanta, hence the background environment. My mission is to share tips on social media video through video blogging. An open platform for readers and viewers to conceptualize, visualize and recognize the influence and shift of online video marketing in today’s world.

My Video Contest Case Study “Awesome Adria Richards”

More on Video Contests as a form of customer engagement video

Back in November, I was researching screen capturing software programs.  I came across a YouTube Review by Adria Richards  and that was an eye opener.  Adria’s video was compelling and engaging.  This one video led me to an awesome online video resource trainer Adria Richards.  Instantly I became a fan of her work which delivers a wealth of tips and information that truly empowers people through technology.

Adria just had a video contest to win a Laptop computer, a Dell Vostro V130 and guess who the winner was?

Here are my takeaways. You need to provide valuable content on your videos to engage your audience. Promotional prizes and contest are great tools for initial attraction. Delivering consistent and quality material for your audience is a must and necessary for continued customer engagement and repeat viewership.

Now don’t get it twisted, I love winning my new laptop but learning from superstar trainers and speakers like Adria Richards is priceless.  I look forward to hearing her speak live and in-person.

More on Adria.  She is an organic technology trainer, consultant and speaker.  She has produced numerous online video tutorials.  Adria can execute and deliver training programs in several ways, webinar style, in-person, one-on-one remote training and recorded screencast tutorials to name a few styles. Content in King. Quality is Queen and keep your eyes “video” on the prize!

Video Contests can help with Social Video Promotion

This has been a great week for me in the video engagement world. I conducted a new webinar on how to use social video to enhance your selling process. On the topic of types of engagement videos, I did not cover the impact of hosting customer video contests. Video contests are a powerful way to promote your business, create a company buzz and drive customer interaction and engagement.

There are several styles of engagement videos, educational, interviews, product demonstrations, how to videos, PSA, webinars, testimonials, entertainment skits, etc. Hosting a compelling video contest can drive traffic to your website. Its human nature, people like to give and receive value.

Providing valuable content on your company website or blog is the primary step, using promotional contests is an added bonus technique. Video contests allow the audience to conceptualize visualize and recognize.

To put it in Lehman’s Terms “Video Contests” can help customer video engagement but you must provide quality content to keep your viewers and customers coming back

More to come in my next post, on the impact of video contest in your customer engagement process.  A real life case study..
