I have a dream for better Social Event Video Dreamforce #DF15

Another super event is about to take place in San Francisco Dreamforce 2015 September 15-18, unfortunately,  I  will not be able to attend this year’s event but will follow socially watching videos, reading updates, blog posts and monitoring the twitter hashtag #DF15 etc.  In Lehman’s Terms I will be there virtually via video, social video watching.

Salesforce.com does an excellent job hosting this annual event with tons of video coverage for this mega four day conference.  They understand the power of leveraging social event video marketing.

This year, I hope to see more social video done by  conference attendees. and speakers.   With emerging social video platforms like Periscope, Meerkat, direct twitter video, Blab etc, the timing couldn’t be better for more video content. We all have access to cell phone cameras  and mobile devices, it is now easier than ever to share your event story and become the digital content storyteller.

My Dream for Social Event Video going forward. Let’s up the game on content production.

Can we get past the phase of just doing live streaming video?  I get it, keep it real, be authentic but have some commons sense when it comes to production value.  Check for audio, lighting and framing your video subject.  More importantly think of your audience watching the video and have a point in your message.  Is your video audience receiving value in your content message?  Is there a call to action?  Is your video even watchable?  I want to be able to see it, hear and understand it?  If your video is educational, entertaining, informative  and engaging you have a winner.

I am looking forward to seeing more compelling video content this year at Dreamforce the next best thing to being there.  Keep it social and leverage video.

Below is a list of strategies and concepts for social event video from my previous blog posts on the topic and impact of social event video.

Video Strategies for Event Planners

  • Encourage your attendees to do video blogs, video interviews, video recaps
  • Offer a video contests for attendees. With Vine and Instagram, mobile video is easier than ever to produce and distribute content. Leverage your event attendees as your mobile video evangelists Simple social user generated content.
  • Set up a video Chat or Live Google Hangouts, Meerkat, Blab,  Periscope and take questions from a global audience. Live interactive video marketing
  • Offer a pay-per-view Video content plan.

What can conference event attendees do to make events more social?

Please continue to post and write great updates, share the experience. Focus on using your mobile device as content curator tool. More tweets, more pictures do more video! Tell and share the event story with visual marketing.  Do video interviews, live stream interviews, video testimonials, video reviews and event recaps.

Reasons Why Social Selling is Not Effective – What Stalls Social Sales?

What are some of the reasons your sales have stalled and leveraging social is not achieving the desired result. Barb Giamanco and I look at this sales conundrum and more in this short video.

Social Centered Selling Moments Reasons Why Social Selling is Not Effective

Can we agree that if used correctly “Social” can be a great resource for understanding today’s buyers and customers. Social can provide advanced credibility, social proof and help enhance the sales process. Social Selling is a methodology not a replacement or quick shortcut for sales results.

Social enables the sales process and it’s not a substitute for lead generation, prospecting and presenting. It still comes down to the simple fact can you sell and deliver to your customers effectively and efficiently?

Chill Puck A Social Business Story Leveraging Social Brand Advocacy

Chill Puck a Social Business Story leveraging social for brand advocacy.

I am a big fan or should I say advocate of companies that engage their customers and provide a great service or product offering.  My experience with Chill Puck meets this scenario.  Chill Puck has a dynamic product and they get social engagement.

As a social selling advocate, I like to connect with like-minded sales and marketing professionals.  Back in December,  I connected online with Jack Kosakowski, Social Sales Advisor for Chill Puck.  I became familiar with Jack and Chill Puck watching numerous video chats like the #Socialhangout reading blog posts,  updates and tweets.  We connected instantly on Twitter and LinkedIn etc.

My initial experience with Chill Puck was off to a great start.  Chill Puck sent me some samples and the rest is history.  I tested the product and liked the concept but more importantly, I loved how the team from Chill Puck interacts and engages with customers online socially.  Establishing social proof online, building and maintaining relationships and never leaving future advocates and customers behind.

So what is Cool about The Chill Puck.

  • Innovative product Design
  • Unlimited Market Potential “ People like cold refreshing drinks”
  • Customizable Logos – Specialty Advertising – Promotional Gifts
  • Social savvy Company. They Get Social and Experiential Marketing
  • Great Customer Support – Personal Brand Relationships
  • Supports Non-Profits, Charities and Fundraisers

I could write much more about The Chill Puck Experience but a video is good way to tell this business story, conceptualize, visualize and recognize a cool product socially.

In Lehman’s Terms Chill Puck is refreshing because they get social engagement and they have a really cool product. Checkout you their website at http://www.chillpuck.com for more details and follow them on social channels. I plan to share more video content this year but more importantly I plan to engage with others on video more by sharing and commenting.

Here is an example of … Video Cross Promotion between Social Channels

Cartoon Explainer Video “Social Selling vs Traditional Selling” Review

I’m a big advocate of leveraging videos for sales and social business. My passion is social selling videos. I recently launched a new video series on the topic of video reviews. My first review’s looked at Brian Solis and Hootsuite on the topic of social selling insight. We also looked at a Microsoft Dynamics video with Fred Studer on the topic Social Selling and mobile customer engagement. Top (VIDEO) reviews on social selling business –video collaboration show.

Here is my latest video review hosted by Sales for Life. Jamie Shanks and Company do a tremendous job on training and being ambassadors for Social Selling. The Team from Sales for Life has a great video featured on their website  titled “Traditional Selling VS Social Selling” I encourage you to watch the video and check out my review.

Video Review of Traditional Selling VS Social Selling.

What I like about this cartoon explainer video is that it’s well produced and loaded with several facts on the benefits of social selling and the sales process. I also like the fact that this video is compelling, engaging, entertaining and fun. If you’re looking for an explainer video on social selling this it.

I love the benefits of video especially the personalized human effect but when you can’t be on camera there are alternatives like creating cartoons, animations, visual slideshows and explainer videos. These video production options can be a great alternative for video marketing.

I’ve been producing videos on the topic of social selling for over four years now and have experimented with cartoons and animations. To me, nothing beats the human effect of being on camera but cartoons and animations have their place. It all comes down to telling that visual digital story in a compelling and engaging style. A call to action helps.

Have you used explainer videos, cartoons or animation style videos for your video marketing? I would love to get your thoughts and insight on these types of videos for the sales process.

Five categories for effective social sellers “Social Selling TV”

In this episode of Social Selling TV we look at five categories for effective social sellers and top sales performers.  This video will looks at Sales Personality Traits, Departmental Mindset, Self Sales Development, Referral Selling and leveraging Social in the Sales Process.

Will Social Selling Programs get more prospects and increase sales revenue. Social Selling TV

Will a Social Selling Program strategy guarantee you more qualified buyers, prospects thus increasing more sales and generating more revenue. The simple answer is it depends?

Sure social selling is an effective strategy that can generate more leads and build brand awareness but at the end of day, the sales process begins and ends with the salesperson’s skill set. Does the salesperson have the communication and management skills to get appointments, qualify leads and close deals?

Social is just a tool to use to engage and enable the sales process. A great tool at that when leveraged correctly.
